2. Component Integration: Where the Satellite Gearbox Lives<\/h2>\n

On a folding power harrow (Grades Rotativas Dobr\u00e1veis), the satellite gearboxes are positioned on the articulated joints of the main frame. Their primary role is to bridge the drive from the central transmission box to the vertical rotor shafts. Unlike the central box, which remains static, side gearboxes must accommodate the mechanical stresses of the frame’s flexing during operation on uneven terrain.<\/p>\n

Working Principle:<\/strong> The input power enters via a transverse shaft connected to the central gearbox. Inside, a pair of high-precision spiral bevel gears changes the drive direction by 90 degrees and reduces the RPM (typically from 1000 RPM PTO down to 280-350 rotor RPM). This reduction generates the massive torque required for the rotors to pulverize heavy clay soils. The side gearbox also incorporates an internal clutch or shear bolt mechanism in some configurations to protect the gear teeth from sudden impact loads caused by buried rocks or stumps.<\/p>\n
